Magan Mandir has become a reputed name in the world of Indian Classical, Semi Classical Music & Light Music. Magan was the pseudonym of Sangeet Acharya Pandit Chinmoy Lahiri, who was regarded as one of pillars of Indian Classical Music, especially in Bengal.

Sangeet Acharya Pandit Chinmoy Lahiri, needs no introduction.He was not only a brilliant performer but also a creator in several aspects.
Therefore Magan Mandir is trying to carry forward the legacy left by Acharya Pandit Chinmoy Lahiri.

Magan Mandir wants to spread a musical message in the society, especially for the upcoming musicians.Acharya Chinmoy Lahiri was a master in his creations,therefore there are numerous ragas created by Acharya and thousands of compositions in Khayal, Thumri, Dadra, Kajri, Raagpradhan Bangla Gaan, Geet, Ghazal & Bhajan.

Sangeet Acharya Pandit Chinmoy Lahiri was himself a notable name in the field of North Indian Classical Music. He was born in the year 1920,on 20th March in a Zamindar family of Tantibandh, Pabna District (Bangladesh). His father Shri Srijeeb Chandra Lahiri was a Civil Engineer (Bengal Engineering College, Shibpur) & mother Smt. Saroj-Bashini Devi.Though Acharya Chinmoy Lahiri was initated in music at a very tender age and initially guided by Guru Sri Rabin Chattopadhyay.

Activities

Since the birth of Magan Mandir in the year 2016,the organisation is working at its best both in West Bengal and in some other major cities of India. Their 1st year concert was at December 2016 at Mahajati Sadan, one of the historical and prestigious Auditorium of Kolkata.After that every year Magan Mandir presented at least two major concerts in the City. Some of the concerts held in Rabindra Sadan Kolkata, Mahajati Sadan Kolkata, Sishir Manch Kolkata, India Habitat Centre (New Delhi), Bhawanipore Sangeet Sammelani Auditorium Kolkata etc.
